Self Love Club
Hi friends, it’s been a while. I hope you’ve all had a lovely start to the new year. I knew I had to come on here and talk about one of my favorite days — Valentine’s Day!
Can we all agree to break the stigma that Valentine’s Day is something singles dread every year? I’ve never understood that. There’s so much love to be shared outside of romantic relationships, not just on February 14th but every day and I think that’s worth celebrating. Self love always baby.
A lot of us are sheltering in place, unable to see our loved ones in person so I thought I’d share some things you can do to celebrate this Valentine’s Day —
Write a love letter to yourself. Seriously. Take some time to sit down, reflect, and appreciate everything you admire about yourself.
Spread the love. Reach out to your friends and family and make sure they know how much you love them. :)
Take yourself out on a date (safely). What feeds your soul? When are you your best self? Go do that! It’s so important to spend time alone and enjoy your own company.
Treat yo’ self. Personally, I’ll be buying myself some fresh flowers, baking sweets and having a relaxing evening at home.
Disclaimer — I’ve actually been in the v-day spirit for weeks now… I’ve indulged in all of the themed sweets I could find at Trader Joe’s and sip on rosé most nights because it brings me joy.
If you have a significant other, I hope you have a lovely Valentine’s Day together. And if you don't, I hope you’ll learn to love this day too! It’s such a cute holiday and we should be embracing self-love, not feeling down about ourselves.
