Skincare Must-Haves

summer favs

I’ll admit, my skincare routine hasn’t always been much of a priority. That all changed this year. For the past seven months, I’ve made it a point to focus on bettering my skin, and it is glowing like never before! I’ve struggled with acne for as long as I can remember. After years of trying different prescription medications, face masks, even diets... I’ve finally figured out a routine that works for me.

Here’s what I’m loving:

  • Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion: This one has my whole heart. I use this as a toner and it has really helped with my redness. It’s great to apply right before your moisturizer. Skincare staple! I can’t go a day without it. (Vegetarian, contains honey + beeswax.)

  • Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream: Running late? This brightening eye cream is all you need. It instantly brightens the under-eye, never fails to make me look more alive than I may feel in the morning. It’s also great under concealer. (Vegetarian, contains honey + beeswax.)

  • Supergoop! Mattescreen SPF 40: It only took one use for me to fall in love with this one. Mattescreen minimizes the appearance of pores, mattifies and smoothes your skin, all while protecting you from harmful sun exposure. This is all I’ve been wearing out of the house most days. It’s basically a tinted primer with SPF, so so good! (Vegan, cruelty-free, and is reef safe!!)

  • The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution: It’s too early for me to talk about any drastic results, but I’ve been really enjoying this so far! It’s a ten minute exfoliating facial and leaves my skin feeling noticeably softer. It’s an easy, affordable addition to any skincare routine. Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution)

  • Curology: Oh baby. HOLY GRAIL PRODUCT. No other acne treatment will ever compare. It took about three months for my skin to adjust, but I started to see a noticeable difference in my skin soon after. You can take their quiz online, address all of your concerns, and soon you’ll have a custom-made formula waiting for you at your doorstep. Best part? First month is free! (Vegan and cruelty-free!)

  • First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration: FAB did not come to play with this moisturizer. Hydrates like a dream! I use it morning and night. (Vegan and cruelty-free!!)

  • Sephora Collection Glow Peel Pads: A nice, gentle, daily exfoliant. I’ve used these for close to two months now and will be repurchasing. They are a nice, inexpensive alternative to other peel pads — def worth trying. (Vegan and come in recycled packaging!)

  • Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm: Let’s just say, there’s a reason why so many people are talking about this balm. I’m not too crazy about the packaging (mine burst within the first few uses) but the formula is phenomenal and I’d recommend it to anyone. (Vegan and cruelty-free!)

My skin has come a long way. Be patient, stay consistent. Remember that results take time. I’d also like to note that we all have different skin types and what’s worked for me may not work for you. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about a certain product! I’m always happy to help. Much love.
